Outreach Programs
With a focus on Broken Hill and far west New South Wales, Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery presents a diverse annual program of exhibitions and public programs, incorporating activities by artists in outlying areas including White Cliffs, Wilcannia, Wentworth, Silverton, Tibooburra and the Unincorporated Area. Gallery staff also provide outreach visits and programs to schools and communities in outlying areas.
Education
Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery attracts a diverse audience including Australian and international tourists and members of the community. The Gallery’s education and public programs are designed to reflect this, providing access to the collection, temporary exhibitions and resources. The education program includes outreach visits, guided tours, curator's and artist's talks, workshops, artist residency programs, film screenings and musical performances. It is specifically targeted at primary and secondary school students, TAFE visual art students, and the wider community. This also includes School of the Air and Distance Education students. The Gallery’s newly established dedicated public programs/workshop area has facilitated the expansion and further development of the Gallery’s education programs. Our emphasis is on providing a meaningful and engaging learning experience for all who visit the Gallery.
